The tallest buildings in the world
(A) The Eifel Tower in Paris is one of the most famous buildings in the world. It was built to commemorate the French revolution. It is made of iron and was built in only a few months by a small group of workers. It is hard to believe that this tower is now one of the world’s most famous landmarks. (B) The Chrysler Building in New York, USA was opened in 1930 and was the tallest building in the world until 1931.It was designed by the owner of one of the largest American motor companies. This building is located in Manhattan where everyone can see it. (C) The Empire State building was the highest building until 1954. It was completed in New York. It is located on the Fifth Avenue. It is 102 storeys high. Inside it has got two observations which offer spectacular views to other buildings. (D) The Sears Tower in Chicago was not completed until 1974. At that time it was the biggest building. Outside the building is covered in black aluminum and glass. Inside there are offices, shops and over one hundred lifts.
