The Tower of London is located in the East End of London. It is known as a famous landmark, museum, fortress. The Crown jewels are housed there. The oldest building, the White tower, was built by William the Conqueror in the eleventh century. The Tower of London was used as a prison for many years. Many people were executed in the Tower. The Tower is guarded by the Yeoman Warders. They are also called Beefeaters. The Pompidou Centre is located in Paris. It is the national museum of Modern art. It is located in a very modern building. It looks like it is inside out because the pipes, escalators and walkways care on the outside. Inside works by Picasso, Matisse, Duchams are displayed. Outside the center there is a large open area where artist meet and performances are held.
